Sasha

When Second Choice Becomes Number One

Ivy and her family had spent months looking after her son's puppy. She and her husband decided that it was time to get a dog of their own. They wanted to give an older dog a second chance instead of buying a puppy.

Ivy and her husband were interested in either a husky or shepherd. She saw The Dog Squad's advertisement on Craig's List for a shepherd/husky mix named Oso. Several people, however, had already seen and interacted with him. TDS took him to Ivy's home and knew that he'd find a good home there but another couple had seen him first.

Ivy was very sad when we told her that Oso had gone to another home. We promised to find the right dog for her family and started looking for a shepherd or husky at the County shelter in Carlsbad. There was a cute husky puppy and a couple of suitable older dogs. Ivy interacted with Sasha, a three year old husky/shepherd mix, and they connected instantly.

To quote Ivy: "Sasha is gorgeous and we are all so happy!! She has the run of the house, has been to obedience school, loves her 'walkies' and just loves the outdoors and can fetch!! We hope to put her into an experienced obedience class in about 12 weeks! She has had her first shed -- being a husky/shepherd mix -- and it looks like it snowed!"
